Chargers fight hard against 5-ranked team

Cypress, CA - The Lady Charger Volleyball team open its home game against Grossmont, the 5th ranked team in the state. Cypress fights hard every sets only to lose 3-1. After Grossmont takes the first set 22-25, The Chargers bounce back to win the 2nd set 26-24. Grossmont comes back strong to take the last two sets 10-25 and 14-25. The defense plays well, Libero Marianne Tapales has 11 digs and DS Yesenia Pacheco also adds 11 digs. Freshman MB Heather Crowell has 1 solo block and 5 assisted blocks. Kayla Pace leads the offense with 7 kills.

The Chargers (1-4) will play at San Diego Mesa on October 19.
